  SHR does not share personally identifiable information with others except as noted in paragraph 3. Our email list will not be shared for any purpose other than to send you the subscription materials you have requested on an opt-in basis. Personal information may be stored and used internally to provide and develop services that clients, applicants and volunteers have expressly permitted or requested. Information stored on or transmitted from SHR systems is done so using proven and widely accepted physical security and digital encryption methodologies.
  1. Safe Harbor Resources nonprofit corporation ("we, our, us") operates as an Accreditation Authority and background data acquisition and confidential processing clearinghouse for staff and support workers in children's and youth programs. 
  2. We use log files to track trends, manage our security and improve the client user experience. This data is not linked to personally identifiable information.
  3. As our clients have expressly permitted, we will safeguard their background data obtained along with brief summaries of decisions they made pursuant to results of their risk appraisals, roles-and-duties offered, and roster status as active or inactive for specific named programs. Disclosure of these summaries is made with permission only to our clients' bona fide program leaderships pursuant to an active application in process for their specific consideration. Such disclosures are handled in a confidential manner and as such do not constitute "publishing" of the data contained therein. We may release specific information in the event if ever and only to the extent we are compelled to do so by law or a court. The specific content and scope of information for our retaining and limited sharing may be revised from time to time to keep us in compliance with ever changing laws and regulations. Our employees and contractors sign non-disclosure pledges in which they agree to be trained and tested on their current knowledge of these rules as they apply to our procedures.
  4. We will in the future make forums, message boards, newsletters, e-zines, and/or news groups available to our users. Please remember that any information that you voluntarily disclose in these areas becomes available to the public.
